Thomas Jefferson believed that “a society founded upon the rule of law and liberty was dependent upon public education”. I think he was positively correct with that thought. I also believe in a methodology called “school-based management” which means that in educational settings those closest to the problem are the best equipped to handle the problems and issues. In other words, I believe that our local educators are far better at dealing with local school issues than people in Annapolis or Washington. A good education remains “the way up and the way out” for many of our children. Attention Parents: Our great teachers cannot do it without great parents.
