Bill, McKinley, great former County Commissioner and leader for Washington County, plus friend and family man. Always ready to serve the citizens of our county. Vote Bill McKinley for County Commissioner.

‘There is no limit to the amount of good a man can do if he isn’t concerned with who gets the credit.’
This concept is difficult to accept because most of us thrive on some praise and recognition.
My friend and a community leader, Bill McKinley, isn’t such person. As a man of personal integrity, a man of courage and giving, Bill’s entire professional career is putting others before himself.
Thank you, Bill, for making such a positive difference on behalf of your community.
Bill McKinley….A man who is willing to listen to his constituents, if fiscally sound and responsible, knows his facts as they relate to issues within our County. If he doesn’t know the facts, he is quick to research it and fact find before making important decisions that affect us all as a whole? He has strong ties and a long history within Williamsport and Washington County and I am proud to call him a friend. I voted for Bill 4 years ago and will continue to support and vote for him in his bid for election as Washington County Commissioner. You can’t find a more dedicated family man, loyal listener and dedicated resident of this County, who always welcomes your calls and follows through on his word to help make things right.

Having known Bill McKinley for many years during his professional life, it was very easy to lend our support to him when he made his initial run for Washington County Commissioner. We knew Bill to be a fair-minded, inquisitive, informed deep thinker in possession of common sense. Watching him serve as County Commissioner in the past has reinforced all of the trust and faith we had in him.
Bill proved to us that he makes informed decisions after much investigation – a true gift for an elected official. He also has shown his concern for all of his constituents as he stays informed about issues in the extreme western part of our county. In Hancock, he is well-known and respected for his service.
It is therefore very easy for us to again support and recommend to others, Bill McKinley for another term as a Washington County Commissioner. His character and leadership skills will help our community and Washington County take on the many challenges that we face in these difficult times.
I am voting for Bill McKinley for County Commissioner. Bill has been a friend and professional colleague for over 35 years. I have found him to be honest, dependable, and a good listener. He uses common sense for problem-solving. The trait I admire the most about Bill is his even personality. He is always calm under pressure.
Bill has an extensive and diverse professional background as a teacher, camp director, assistant principal, principal, Director of High School Principals and Director of School Services. After retirement, Bill continued to manage programs for the Board of Education and served as President of St. Maria Goretti High School. He was the chairman of the Gaming Commission before becoming a County Commissioner.
I feel I am in good hands with Bill McKinley at the helm. I hope you will join me in voting for Bill McKinley for County Commissioner.
I met Bill McKinley eight years ago when I campaigned for the position of County Commissioner. Bill was successful in his campaign and the residents of Washington County should be thankful.
During his first term in office he showed he is in contact with the needs of Washington County and has a very good understanding on how to move our county forward.
I also have the privilege of serving on the Airport Advisory Commission with Bill where he has shown good leadership qualities and his suggestions to the Advisory Commission have assisted us in moving forward with our goal to expand businesses at the airport.
Bill is educated, well-spoken and has a forward thinking attitude and he is in tune with the needs of Washington County. He is very deserving to be re-elected to another four year term as a County Commissioner.

I have known Bill McKinley for all my adult life and have worked with him in various roles. When we were starting our careers, we taught and coached together at South Hagerstown High School. I noticed that Bill treated every player and person in his classroom with great respect, honesty, fair-mindedness, and encouragement. He was genuinely interested in each person and did his best to minister to each person’s needs. As their coach and teacher, he was their leader, but more importantly, he was their servant. This reputation followed him over his careers as his titles changed from teacher/coach to Principal, Director of Middle and High Schools to Deputy Superintendent. In every new title, his character as an honest, caring well-thought and reasoned man of integrity preceded him. The trust he earned and engendered from others led him to elevated levels of responsibility because of his honorable personal character and noteworthy record of accomplishment. He was instrumental in partnering with the Community College in establishing the Learning Community and Student Leadership Washington County (now Kepler Scholar program) as mutual Board-approved programs.
After retiring from public education, he was sought out to serve as President of St. Maria Goretti High School because of his integrity, decisiveness and ability to work with a wide range of personalities during transition.
After securing a stable, forward-looking structure for St. Maria, with a heart of a true public servant, Bill was elected to service as County Commissioner. After a very successful first term, regardless of one’s political affiliation, you know you can trust Bill to bring well researched, knowledge-based solutions to the issues with which Washington County citizens must contend. I am not surprised that with his leadership contributions, the County has the highest Standard and Poors Bond rating, AA+, in County history, has reduced the County debt and lowered the unemployment rate during this term of office. He creatively grows tax bases without raising taxes, grows businesses and jobs with public-private partnerships, and is responsive to each constituent concern with the conscientious, fair-minded, decisive honesty which has characterized his life. Public safety, education and transportation are his important priorities for the upcoming term.
On a personal note, Bills family and my own grew up together. I greatly value our five-decade relationship. My first child, Christy, is Bill’s Goddaughter. He is a greatly admired brother to me and a completely selfless man. He is known not by the number of servants he has, but by the number of people he served. This man of substance over style, integrity over popularity and honest to God public servant is an extraordinary asset to the citizens of our County. I am honored to enthusiastically endorse William McKinley for the office of County Commissioner.
I’ve known Bill McKinley forty plus years, and in that time he’s been my teacher, my coach, m children’s principal and my friend. Bill has devoted his life to serving the residents of Washington County. Bill is successful at what he does because he loves Washington County and those who live here. I know him to be passionate in all he does; his handshake is his bond; he is honest and sincere and I trust him to make sound decisions for the county and its residents.
That’s why I’m voting to elect Bill McKinley commissioner for Washington County.
